Greetings from Windermere Baptist Conference Center.
What an exciting summer we have had here at "God's Special Place." There have been countless salvation decisions, and many decisions for Christian service. In addition to all that we have had the pleasure of witnessing many baptisms. Here are a few of those we have heard of:
In June, the youth group of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty baptized 45 teenagers and shared many amazing stories. Like so many of churches, they brought youth with non-churched backgrounds. Some of these youth carry heavy baggage in their young lives, like drugs, Satanism, alcoholism, and many kinds of abuses. To learn at camp that they are loved unconditionally and can leave all that baggage at Jesus' feet is very freeing for them. This is what they tell us and their leaders repeatedly. What a life-changing experience for them!
Two Texas churches performed baptisms during June. The high school youth group of Mobberly Baptist Church and a group from First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls had baptisms in the lake.
Also in June, Wild Week Camp came to us due to oil on shore in the gulf at the camp they were going to. First Baptist Church of Springdale Arkansas was part of Wild Week in June and had many youth come to Christ and follow in baptism.
In July, Familia Christian International Family Retreat came to Windermere with the purpose of sharing testimonies with family and friends and then to have a baptismal service.
This month, a children's camp had many salvation decisions that will be followed-up with baptismal services back in their church.
A long time counselor with Raise the Blaze Camp said the time at Windermere was definitely the best camp experience they had ever had. He had counseled with many teenagers, one who had come to camp very angry but had an important turn-around during the week and now was being baptized. He spoke of several similar stories in their group. In addition to the beautiful location of Windermere Cove on the Lake of the Ozarks, the time was made extra special with the sweet singers and guitar playing from Calvary Chapel in the background. Their Pastor baptized his three nieces and two nephews on their last day of camp, along with 30 other people. These are amazing days to be at Windermere!
