Help Others Through Charitable Giving
Weekly ArticleFive-year-old Nathan did not understand spring traditions, but he knew he liked them. He was permitted to try on a new suit (and dress up like dad), look for birds' nests in the county park, and for the first time, mom and dad started talking about cooking outdoors and airing out the house. When the whole family gathered for a spring dinner he asked, "Why can't it be spring all year?"

Little Nathan asked a question we all ask from time to time. Why can't every season be spring? With the beautiful flowers, fresh breezes and cheerful atmosphere, spring is an absolutely beautiful season. However, spring would not be spring without winter. Poet Anne Bradstreet once said, "If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant."

Lately, the winter seems a little longer and the news certainly isn't doing much to warm. Maybe the coldness of the winter's news can make spring's warmth so much more pleasant.

One of the best ways we can feel better about ourselves and the world around us is by helping others.
